Dive for Crayfish
Try catching a Crayfish by hand.
We aim not to have our Crayfish dives mixed with other guided tours. If you want to dedicate your dive to search for Crayfish this is the dive for you. However, here at Dave's Diving we have some terms on our boat to ensure we act sustainably. Join us for a fun trip out on the water with a sense of adventure!
-
We are not Freezer Fillers. There is a maximum catch limit at only 2 Crayfish per diver. These must be of legal-size, have a hard shell and not be a female with eggs. We will be there to ensure you know what to look for.
-
You cannot re-sell the Crayfish. The Crayfish you catch will be marked appropriately and for you only.
-
We do not catch any for you. We are merely there to guide you and show you where the Crayfish are. Yes, we will give you tips and tricks but it is up-to you to finish the job!
-
Leave the small crayfish and breeders alone. We do not want to damage the future generations of crayfish.
On these dives we average a depth of 9m - 14m (30ft - 50ft) searching each crevasse for a Crayfish. Our guide will be there to ensure are safe, respectful to the environment and responsible. We act sustainably and take pride in our privileges. This is South Island, New Zealand SCUBA. Come see what the fun is about.
